Steve J. Bukowski, 77, of Terryville, husband of Zyta (Zajac) Bukowski passed away Thursday (Feb. 16, 2012) at his home.

Steve was born April 8, 1934 in Poland. He was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Kupiec) Bukowski. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Steve retired from Craftsmen Litho after 35 years. He also worked as a police officer in Plymouth, CT for 15 years, from 1965 - 1980. He was an avid golfer, playing at Crestbrook Golf Course in Watertown, CT. He also loved to play cards and loved to dance. Steve was a member of the Terryville Fish and Game Club for many years.

Besides his loving wife of 40 years he leaves his sons, Daniel and Joseph Bukowski of Terryville; his daughters, Jean Sekorski and her husband David of Terryville, Susan Bukowski and Robert Culver of Terryville; his sister-in-law, Stefania Bober and husband Joe and children, Steve and AnnMarie. Steve also leaves behind his grandchildren, Douglas and Katlyn Sekorski and Jocelyn and Domenick Bukowski.

Funeral services will be held Monday (Feb. 20, 2012) 11:00AM from the Scott Funeral Home 169 Main St., Terryville to St. Casimir Church, Terryville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM. Entombment at a later date will be held at Holy Family Mausoleum, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday morning from 9:00 to 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Casimir Church, 21 Maple St., Terryville, CT 06786 of which Steve was a member.

Steve played golf with us for years. Most recently playing in our foursome on saturdays. Steve told me he was in the 101st. Airborne Division, which I also was during the Vietnam war. Steve was a special guy and will be missed by many.
