Leona (Mackiewicz) Acker

Leona (Mackiewicz) Acker, 77, of Northfield, wife of Douglas Acker Sr., passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Bristol Hospital. She was born December 5, 1946, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Isadore and Sophie (Siemiatkoski) Mackiewicz.

Leona loved to bring happiness to others. She was always doing for others and taking care of everyone, in any way she could. She took care of her family and loved being with them. Leona enjoyed going to a good tag sale, decorating her house for any holiday, going to lunch with her ladies and just spending time with friends and family.

Besides her husband, Leona is survived by her son Douglas Jr and Linda of Maine; her sister Joyce Jones of Terryville; her nieces and nephews, Felicia Zack of Bristol, Leona “Sissy” Jones of Terryville, David Jones of Terryville, Alex Mackiewicz of NH, Mya King of CT and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She also leaves behind her fur-grandbabies, Lucy, Murphy and Petunia. Leona is predeceased by her parents, her brother Leon Mackiewicz, her sister Jean Mackiewicz and her nephew Leonard Mackiewicz.

Family and friends may visit the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, on Saturday, April 13, from 2-4 PM, with a service at 4. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, at the convenience of the family. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
