Francis "Frank" Viola, 96, of Terryville, husband of the late Helen (Kolsun) Viola died Saturday (Sept. 10, 2011) at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain.
Frank was born May 6, 1915 in NY, NY. He was the son of the late John and Margaret (Damiano) Viola and has been a resident of Terryville since 1961. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marines. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a cabinet maker for Mott Metalurgical Co. of Farmington. Frank was a former member and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Bristol Palos Council #35. He was also a former member of the Bristol Elks Club.
He is survived by his son, John Viola of Sandy Hook; his daughters, Marilyn Taylor and her husband Wayne of South Windsor, Melanie Viola of Bristol, Kathleen Wright of South Windsor; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his sons, Michael and James Viola.
Private funeral services will be held Tuesday (Sept 13, 2011) 11:00AM at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
