Algerd Thomas Ulinskas, 82, of Terryville, husband of Bernadine (Kosko) Ulinskas, passed away March 28, 2024, at Bristol Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born September 8, 1941, in Waterbury, son of the late Alphonse Algerd and Florence Ulinskas.
Algerd grew up in Oakville and graduated from Watertown High School, class of ’59. He proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany as a helicopter mechanic. Algerd retired from New Departure Hyatt and then worked for Value Health. Algerd enjoyed woodworking and cooking. He loved tending to and talking about his garden. He was an avid fisherman, fishing in local lakes and ponds with his children, and at Martha’s Vineyard for stripers. He enjoyed camping with his family in Maine and taking many family trips. He liked spending time with his friends. Algerd cherished his family and took interest in all of their accomplishments.
Besides his wife of 57 years, Algerd is survived by his children, Algerd M. Ulinskas and Lynn, Jennifer Solfrian and Jeff, Sara Longworth and John, and Peter Ulinskas and Lee; his grandchildren, Jackson and Charlotte Solfrian and Hannah Ulinskas; his sister Linda Ernst and her husband John, and several nieces and nephews. Algerd was predeceased by his parents, and his sister Jean Genova.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 11, 12 PM, at Immaculate Conception Church, 170 Main St, Terryville. A celebration of life with military honors will be held at the American Legion, Post 20, 245 Main St, Terryville beginning at 1 PM.
