Katherine "Penny" (Hartt) McCall, of Terryville, formerly of Bristol, loving wife of John McCall passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at the hospice of Bristol Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born in 1938 in Presque Isle, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and June (Carter) Hartt and was a resident of Bristol for over 20 years before moving to Terryville, where she spent the last 15 years of her life.

Besides her devoted husband John of 57 years, survivors include her brother Donald Hartt of Wallingford; her sister Linda Ziegler of Terryville; her sister Christine Barta of Oregon; her sons, Brian, Brad and Brent McCall and their families from Bristol; her daughters Sally and Nancy McCall and their families from Bristol; several nieces and nephews, and their families; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marlene Clark, her brothers-in-law Donald Clark and Skip Zeigler, her brother Raymond Hartt; her son Blair McCall; and daughters Susan, Kathy, Carla, and Pamela McCall, and Rhonda Borelli.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her favorite moments were the times when she was in the company of her family. She lived a quiet and private life, overcoming many challenges throughout her years. She was a remarkably strong woman with a devoted faith in God and a gift for loving her family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Katherine's wishes were to have a private cremation. Scott Funeral Home is assisting the family with this final request. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
