William M. Hermann, 80, of Terryville, passed away on November 15, 2021 at Bristol Hospital.
Bill was born in 1941 to the late Leroy and Anna (Stankevich) Hermann. He started his community service many years ago by serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. Bill made his life and career in the Bristol area and retired as an engineer from Buss Fuses and served as a proud member of Terryville Volunteer Fire Department for more than four decades. He loved being with his family and friends, fishing, traveling, being outdoors, and being involved in any kind of community event, especially if snacks were served. Bill was not only active with the Terryville Volunteer FD, he was also involved in the American Legion Plymouth Post 20, the Terryville Fish and Game Club, he was a Boy Scout leader for many years, and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Southington. He will be remembered as a food enthusiast, a corny joke teller, a collector of nuts and bolts, and someone who had a mischievous glint in his eye and an easy smile on his face.
Bill is survived by his wife Edith Hermann of Terryville; his daughter Susan Marcuccio and her husband Pietro of Bristol; his son Eric Hermann and his wife Amy of Southington; his grandsons Joseph Guinazzo, Liam Hermann, and Luke Hermann; his great grandson Leon Guinazzo; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was always ready to help and found his true calling volunteering as a fireman. In lieu of flowers please give to your favorite local volunteer fire department.
Relatives and friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home 169 Main St., Terryville on Saturday, November 20th from 3 to 5 pm with a service to follow. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
