Wayne Alexis Yacawych, 52, of Terryville, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024. He was born March 3, 1972, in Bristol, son of Shirley (Fahie) Yacawych of Burlington, and the late John A. Yacawych.
Wayne was employed by Diebold Election Systems for 18 years before working with NCR. He was a very hard worker and took pride in his work. Wayne loved soccer, both as a fan and as a player. One of his favorite players was Pelé, Wayne was fortunate enough to have a trophy signed by Pelé.
Besides his mother, Wayne is survived by his brothers, John T. Yacawych and his wife Rose of Barkhamstead and Thomas W. Yacawych and his wife Holly of Northfield, VT; his nephew Warren Yacawych, who is pursuing his Ph. D in Physiology at the University of Michigan and his niece Alexa Yacawych, who is attending the US Naval Academy; and his girlfriend Kimberly Ray of Middletown, who Wayne was fortunate to have in his life, as she was an angel for him.
Family and friends may visit the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, Saturday, August 31, from 9-11 AM. Burial will be at Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
