Walter “Vatz” Sekorski, 84, of Terryville, husband of Karen (Beaucar) Sekorski whom he was married to for 50 years, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Ingraham Manor in Bristol. He was born at home in Pequabuck on August 8, 1937, son of the late Steve and Irene (Dzielenski) Sekorski.
Vats enjoyed many years of preforming with the band “Dynamics” and playing golf at the Pequabuck Golf Course, where he scored 7 holes-in-one, an accomplishment Vatz was very proud of. Vatz retired from New Departure Division of General Motors and then went to work for the Bristol Board of Education, retiring as head custodian of John J. Jennings School.
Besides his wife, Vatz is survived by his daughter Holly Sekorski of Unionville; several nephews and one neice. He is predeceased by his brothers, Henry “Big Hank” Sekorski and Joseph “Chief” Sekorski, and a brother-in-law Ray Beaucar.
Special thanks goes out to Mark Sekorski and Karen Cleaveland, who through the years have always been there when needed. His brother-in-law, Ronald Beaucar and Bill Allen for the constant presence and helpfulness through this trying time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 4 at St. Casimir Church, Terryville. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Friends and family may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St. Terryville, on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
