Vito “Van” Vendrella, 96, of Plymouth, husband of the late Joan (Platt) Vendrella, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at home. He was born on October 7, 1925, in Waterbury, son of the late Anthony and Marie (DeNigris) Vendrella.
Van proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for Lumbard Bro’s in Waterbury. He was a member of the VFW Oakville, Post 7330.
Van is survived by his son Thomas Vendrella of Plymouth; his daughter Nancy Geoffroy and her husband Steven of Wolcott; his 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Besides his wife, Van was predeceased by his son Peter Vendrella, and his daughter Carol Raffenallo.
Funeral services will be held Friday 12 PM at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main Street, Terryville CT. Visiting hours are Friday from 10 to 12 PM. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville, CT. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
