Thomas L. Rockwell, 76, of Terryville, husband of Barbara (Kenealy) Rockwell, passed away peacefully January 31, 2023, at home. He was born August 18, 1946, in Waterbury, son of the late John E. and Kathleen (Jenkins) Rockwell.
Tom proudly served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War where he learned his pattern making skills. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Waring Products for 33+ years. Tom was a member of the Vintage Chevy Club of America and former member of the Bristol Auto Club. He loved woodworking and he spent most of his free time tinkering in his basement workshop or garage, on projects for family and friends. Some of his favorite hobbies were making and repairing pocketknives, repairing snowblowers, and taking apart anything he could to rebuild and make it better. With his daughters he became very involved and helped coach the Junior Rifle Team in Bristol for over ten years. One of his biggest prides was restoring his 1937 Chevy pickup.
Besides his wife Barbara, Tom is survived by his daughters, Kristen Rockwell of Terryville and Allison Callahan and her husband Kevin of Prospect; his brother Robert E. Rockwell of Northfield; and his grandchildren, Ryan and Claire.
Family and friends may visit the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 5-7 PM with military honors to follow. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville, in the spring. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
