Thomas R. Miller

Thomas R. Miller, 80, of Terryville, husband of Helena (Couwenberg) Gannon, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, at home. He was born September 22, 1943, in Cold Spring, NY, son of the late Ralph and Susan (Seymour) Miller.

Thomas proudly served his country in the US Airforce. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Conrail. Tom was an adventurous outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, kayaking, tubing, skydiving, and hiking on the Appalachian Trail. He deeply revered nature and animals and he always captured any bugs found in the house to return outside unharmed. He created creative and beautiful gardens and found it important to work out. Tom had a quick wit and specific sense of humor, that he proudly passed along to his children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Tom is survived by his son, Daniel Miller of Terryville; his daughters, Dawn O’Creene-Kern and her husband Andre of Pawling, NY and Tracy Oslacky and her husband Peter of Tuxedo, NY; his brother Samuel Miller and his wife Marie of TN; his sisters Joyce Miner of Lakeland, FL and Nancy Higgins and her husband Thomas of NY; his grandchildren, Khandice, Samantha, Danny, Connor, Michael, Peter and Adam; his great-grandchildren Greyson and Phoenix and several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Gary and Ralph Miller, and his niece Emily Sue Higgins.
