Shirley (Simpson) Jagela,77, of Plainville, CT., wife of Raymond R. Jagela, passed away Tuesday July 6, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford.
Shirley was born September 8, 1943 in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Roger and Doris (Day) Simpson. She grew up in Thomaston, CT and was a graduate of Grove Street Grammar School and Thomaston High School. Shirley was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who always put the needs and wants of others before her own. When she was younger Shirley loved camping and the outdoors. She also liked horses, but school not so much. She enjoyed spending two years overseas with her husband Raymond Jagela. Shirley had many health problems during her lifetime but never complained. In spite of this she loved life itself.
In addition to her husband Raymond of 57 years she leaves behind her daughter, Lynn (Jagela) Synott, two grandchildren, Nicholas Synott and partner Taylor, and Bethany Synott, two great grandchildren, Parker & Leon, six brothers and sisters, Karen (Simpson) Ferro, Terry Simpson, Henry Simpson and wife Marion, Lynn (Simpson) Cahill, Thomas Simpson and wife Janice,and Deborah (Simpson) Sanford, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 12th 12:00PM at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Thomaston. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday prior to the service from 10AM to 12PM.
