Rena Rosetta (Ayers) Packer, 75, of Lyndonville, VT wife of Glenn Packer passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at home. She was born August 1, 1947, in Eastport, ME, daughter of the late Everett and Gertrude Ayers of Perry, ME.
She moved to Vermont from Connecticut in 1989. Prior to her retirement, Rena worked at Lyndon Institute, Lyndonville, VT for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and camping. Rena and Glenn camped together every summer for over 20 years. Her favorite pastime was sitting around the campfire with a cup of coffee, closely followed by feeding ducks at the lake.
Besides her husband, Rena is survived by her children, Donna Banning (Lewis) of Bristol, CT, Virginia Smith (George) of Terryville, CT, and Rodney J Henderson of Willimantic, CT; her sister Patricia Jollotta (Dale); stepchildren, Stacey Emmons (Rich) of Terryville, CT, and Glenn Packer, Jr. of Waterbury, CT; grandchildren, Matthew Thibodeau, Sarah, Allison, and Jack Smith, Jamie Williams, Melissa Black (Jason), Keith Emmons and Amanda Emmons; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Rena was predeceased by her sisters Shirley McPhail, Mary Dudley and brothers Johnny Ayers, Michael Ayers Sr.
She was predeceased by her longtime best friend Lorraine Merrifield.
Family and friends are invited to visit Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St. Terryville, CT, on Saturday, January 14, from 2-4pm.
