Mark Guy Soucy, 74, of Cheshire, CT, husband of Linda (Pelletier) Soucy, passed away on November 29, 2024, at the VA Connecticut Healthcare facility in West Haven, CT, with family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 11, 1950, son of the late Guy J. and Elsie Mary (Proulx) Soucy.
After graduating from Bristol Central High School, Class of 1968, Mark went on to proudly serve our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years by Bristol Hospital as an electrician. Mark was a member of the Bell City Rifle Club. He enjoyed video games, listening to all types of music, especially classic hard rock. Watching sports, especially his beloved Minnesota Vikings and Twins, brought him great pleasure. He enjoyed sitting in his yard while watching the wildlife, the hummingbirds and the bears. Mark was an amateur drummer, he liked to exercise and stay active before illness took over. He and Linda liked to venture out to try many CT restaurants, but his favorite was Lenny & Joes by the shore. His favorite spot was by the lake in North Conway, NH. Mark was a wonderful soul who would help anyone who needed it and was liked by so many for his great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by his neighbors and everyone who knew him.
Besides his beloved wife of over 40 years, Mark leaves behind his sisters, Deborah Kelley of Bristol CT and Lynda Zurolo of WI; his brother-in-law Albert Pelletier, Jr. and fiancé Joelle Paradis of CT, his nieces and nephews, Jill Kelley of NJ, Kreg D. Kelley of FL, Jason Camire of TN, and Sara Camire of CT; his great nieces and great nephews, Elias and Violet Mastro of NJ and Lucas and Logan Camire of TN, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind his good friends, Dennis Fox and his family of CT, Gary Karbousky and his family of CO, and Gary Maynard and his family of CT, and his beloved cat “Piggy”.
