Louise Alice (Barber) Wagner of Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Cook Willow Health Center in Plymouth at the age of 87 years.
Louise, daughter of the late Marshall and Alice (Moylan) Barber, was born on May 31, 1937. Louise married her late husband Robert on August 31, 1957 at the Plymouth Congregational Church in Plymouth, CT. Together, they had 6 children and 42 years married.
Louise enjoyed watching Red Sox baseball and UConn basketball, was a talented baker, and enjoyed being out and about. Thanks to her many years as a bus driver in Terryville, she knew her way around CT like the back of her hand. Traveling even short distances with her ensured that you would hear stories of her experiences, family history, or navigational tips derived from her many years on the road.
Louise is survived by her children, Robert Wagner Jr. and his wife Elaine; Louise Newsome and her husband Robert; Timothy Wagner and his wife Wendy; Lee Wagner; and Todd Wagner and his wife Lisa. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Melissa McPhail and her husband Chris; Richard Wagner and his wife Pamela; Robert Newsome and his wife Christine; Philip Newsome and his wife Kelly; Donna Newsome and her fiancé John Sullivan; Carrielyn Reynolds, Bethann Borden and her husband Darin; Jamye Foster and her husband J.C.; 14 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Louise was predeceased by her husband, Robert R. Wagner and their son Thomas Wagner. She was also predeceased by her parents Marshall and Alice Barber, and siblings Marshall Barber, Fred Barber, Sheldon Barber, and Gertrude Correll.
Special thanks to the nurses and other staff at Cook Willow who helped care for Louise when we could not. We are grateful.
There will be no calling hours. Burial at West Cemetery in Plymouth will be private and at the convenience of the family. Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, is assisting with the arrangements. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
