Ksenia (Mordella) Seibert

Ksenia (Mordella) Seibert, 83, of Bristol, wife of Frank Seibert Jr, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at Arden Courts in Farmington. She was born February 27, 1943, in Bristol, the only child of the late Nicolas and Marie (Tishon) Mordella. Kassey, as she was known to family and friends, grew up in Terryville and graduated from Terryville High School. She played the piano, excelled in school and was the first in her family to go to college attending Albertus Magnus in New Haven.  

After graduating from college, Kassey was employed by the Bristol Public School and taught Spanish at Bristol Eastern High School. She was a member of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in Terryville and later a parishioner at St. Joseph in Bristol. Kassey and Frank married in July of 1967 and eventually made their home in Bristol raising their daughter Missy in a home they built in 1974. The family was complete with a black cat named Boots whom Kassey adored. 

Kassey’s love for her grandchildren was immeasurable. Known as Baba to her grandchildren, she loved spending summer vacations with them. They traveled to many places from Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and even England and Germany, but she was happiest by the shore in Rhode Island, Connecticut or New Jersey. As the children grew older, she texted them often and wrote beautiful messages in cards. She was a wonderful writer.  

Her Catholic faith and the rosary sustained her through her 63 years as a Type 1 Diabetic and then later through her dementia diagnosis. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to her care givers, Carrie, Maureen, and all the wonderful staff at Arden Courts. In the last years of her life, when the journey was most arduous and she could no longer care for herself, others offered her compassionate care and comfort.

Besides her husband Frank, of nearly 59 years, she leaves behind her daughter Milissa Else and her husband Bert, of New Jersey and her beloved grandchildren Frank Robert “Bobby” Else of New Jersey and Natalie and her husband Seth Mley of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, from the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville, to St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, 35 Allen St., Terryville, for a divine liturgy at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, 35 Kearney St., Terryville. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 9 AM until leaving for church.
