Kenneth C. Hintz, Sr.

Kenneth C. Hintz Sr., 88, of Terryville, husband of the late Lucille (Poirier) Hintz, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the Pines at Bristol. He was born November 12, 1935, in Bristol, son of the late Adolph and Anna (Bertnagel) Hintz.

Ken proudly served in the US Air Force. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Associated Springs of Bristol for over 40 years. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Terryville. He loved sports; he played basketball at UCONN, and he held the “high score” record at Terryville High for 25 years. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He also loved watching them play sports. Ken was a family man and loved to travel and fish.

Ken is survived by his sons, Keith Hintz and his wife Amanda, Jonathan Hintz, Kenneth Hintz Jr. and his wife Michelle; his daughters, Diane Mackiewicz and her husband George, Gretchen Johri and her husband Issad, and Sandra Hintz; his 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28, 10:45 AM from Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main Street, Terryville, to the Immaculate Conception Church, 170 Main Street, Terryville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial with military honors to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville. Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Thursday, June 27, from 6-8 PM. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
