Joshua Thomas Borysewicz (Josh) was born on March 29, 1977, and passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Josh will be remembered for his generous spirit, his skillful hands, his love of the outdoors, and the lasting impact he had on the people around him. Because of his selfless decision to be an organ donor, even in death he was able to give two people new life and new hope.
Josh was predeceased by his mother, Donna Marie (Lyga) Borysewicz, and his father, Thomas Erwin Borysewicz, his grandparents, Daniel and Helen Lyga, Erwin and Velma Borysewicz and his uncle Thomas Lyga.
He is lovingly survived by his younger sister, Krista Cherry, and her husband Lucas Cherry; his two nieces Grace Cherry and Brooklyn Cherry; and his longtime partner Kim David, with whom he shared his life for many years. He also leaves behind Kim’s mother Kristine David and her partner Tom Turick, Kim’s sister Katy Ortiz and her husband Jesse, and nieces Kassia and Kalley Ortiz. Josh is also survived by his uncles Anthony Borysewicz, Robert Lyga, John Lyga, Richard Lyga, Daniel Lyga, his aunts Cindy Avallone and Joyce Emerson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, friends, neighbors, and all who loved him.
Josh loved woodworking, boating, fishing and spending time on the water. He had a natural ability to work with his hands and took pride in creating, repairing and improving the world around him. He was an intelligent and compassionate person, known as the family handyman who could fix anything. Josh was also a devoted dog dad to Lyla and previously Snickers, Pixel, and Buddy.
Professionally, Josh worked as a landscaping and property manager, where his work reflected his dedication and reliability. He had the ability to transform nature into works of art.
