John E. Toohey, “Jed”, 58, of Bristol, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, at Hartford Hospital with loved ones by his side. John was born December 30, 1963, in Hartford, son of Barbara (Jandrok) and the late Paul Toohey.
John was a hard worker as the owner and operator of Toohey Landscaping and then later as a shop foreman for an electrical contractor. His passion was helping and giving back and enjoyed coaching the Pop Warner-Youth Football team of Bristol. John loved animals, spending time outside, the Dallas Cowboys, rock and roll music, and a good BBQ. Everyone who knew John described him as a very kind and caring man with a great sense of humor.
John leaves behind his mother, Barbara Toohey; his daughter Heather Jeski and her husband Frank; his son Daniel Toohey and girlfriend Natalie Scott; his brother Michael Toohey and his wife Maria and nephew and niece Connor and Shay; his grandson Xander Jeski and soon to be granddaughter; his dog-granddaughter Fender Toohey, and his girlfriend Beth Sweeney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, on Tuesday, April 12 at 10:00 AM. Friends and family may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, from 8:30 AM until leaving for church. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
