Jean Ann Hayes Lyden, born on September 24, 1937, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. For many years, Jean was lovingly cared for by her daughter Lisa Lyden Fischer, who devoted herself wholeheartedly to her mother and adored her deeply. Their bond was one of love, devotion, and unwavering care.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Kenneth Lyden; her mother, Agnes Thayer; her father, Harold Hayes; her brothers, Harold “Buddy” Hayes and Michael Hayes; her nephew, David Hayes; and several cherished loved ones, including Aunt Ann and Aunt Nancy, who held a very special place in her heart.
She is survived by her devoted children, Thomas Lyden and his partner Joanne Pelletier, John Lyden, Kenneth Lyden and his wife Robbie Lyden, and Lisa Lyden Fischer and her husband Kevin Fischer, including her brother Todd Hayes, as well as her extended family who loved her so very much.
Jean was an incredibly proud and loving grandmother to Rebecca Lyden Schell, fiancé Pete Coon, John Lyden, Kenny Lyden Jr., Jeffrey Lyden, and Cheyanne Lyden. She was also a devoted great-grandmother to all of her great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored beyond words.
Jean dedicated her life to her family as a housewife and caregiver, always placing the needs of others before her own. She had a deep love for nature and animals, finding comfort and joy in their presence. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew her. She was the heart of her family, offering warmth, comfort, and quiet strength through every season of life.
We would like to thank every caregiver that helped Jean for the last 11 years. We truly appreciate every one of you.
Jean will be remembered as a truly loving and selfless woman, the best person to so many, and a guiding light for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who loved her.
A celebration of life will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, is assisting the family with the arrangements. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
