James Bowden, Jr. Obituary

James P Bowden Jr. (aka Buddy or Jimbo) of Palm Bay, FL, formerly of Lynn, MA (and almost Terryville CT) is no longer “Still alive and kicking” as he would often say.  He passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughter and 200 passengers of Southwest Flight 2029 somewhere along the eastern seaboard.

He was born January 3, 1942 to James P and Rita (Legere) Bowden.  He graduated from Lynn English High School and joined the US Marine Corp.  He later received his Masters Degree in Community Counseling with a specialization in Alcoholism Counseling from Salem State College.  Additionally, he received invitations to exchange his ideas surrounding Addictions in Russia, Prague, Norway, Sweden and Germany.  He spent the remainder of his career working for agencies throughout Massachusetts and Florida, including the Florida Safety Council as a Clinical Supervisor. He was a proud and passionate friend of Bill W and would always make himself available to anyone who needed help.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Ken Reynolds, a granddaughter, Alea Cote and great-granddaughter Natalie Nedobity all of Terryville.  He is also survived by his sisters Marianne Beall of Tampa, FL Susan Duquette of Wesley Chapel, FL Sandy Perlino (Stephen Luca) of Lynn MA and brothers William of Corona, CA Michael of Tampa, FL, Donald of Lynn, MA and the self-proclaimed “Legend” Ken Bowden (Debbie) of Franklin, NC.  Additionally survived by extended family, Samantha Reynolds, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Reynolds, Matthew (Kate) Reynolds, Scarlet Reynolds, Debra Plummer and close friend Melanie Squier in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his wife, Jacqueline Vincent, he was predeceased by his great grandson Christopher and great granddaughter Avery.
