James A. Bonaker, 82, of Plymouth, husband of Sharon (Greger) Bonaker, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at home. He was born July 30, 1940, in Waterbury, son of the late Arthur and Betsy (Pope) Bonaker.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by Violette Silvester & Sons in East Hartford as a mechanic. James was an EMT and Fireman at the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department, he was a member of the Italian Independent Political Club of Kensington, and the Pistol Club. He was a fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, and the UCONN Basketball teams. He loved his family, fishing, hunting, and playing pool.
Besides his wife Sharon, James is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Gravel and her husband Gregory of East Hampton, Debra DeVito and her husband Anthony of Scotland, and Amy McCallum of Canton; his sister Linda Woods and her husband John of Morganton, NC; and his grandchildren, Kaylee Gravel, Lyndsey Gravel, Julianna DeVito, David DeVito, Jillian McCallum and Eli McCallum.
