James S. Baccei

James “Jim” S. C. Baccei, 84, of Terryville and Lebanon, husband of Donna Baccei, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was born in 1941, in Torrington, son of the late Egisto and Margaret Baccei.

Prior to retirement, Jim worked as a Design Engineer with Winchester Electronics in Wallingford. He was a member of the Torrington Elks Lodge #372 and proudly served in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. He was quite skilled as an artist and could often be found painting, doing stained glass, wood carving, and engaging in numerous other creative projects. Jim prided himself on being a problem solver, often designing novel solutions to everyday problems, frequently with the assistance of his trusty pocket knife. A life-long fisherman, Jim took pleasure in teaching his grandkids how to fish and through the years took many fishing trips with his son, Steve, his brother, Tom, and other friends. Jim was competitive and always enjoyed sports, both playing them in his younger years and coaching his children when they were young. Jim was able to make friends easily and enjoyed talking for hours and telling stories. Nothing was more important to Jim than his family. He was always so proud of his children and his grandchildren and, to them, he was their big teddy bear. He will be deeply missed.

Besides his beloved wife, Donna, of 51 years, Jim is survived by his son Steven Baccei and his wife Jennifer of Wayland, MA; his daughter Jennifer Gold and her husband Niles of East Greenbush, NY; his brother Thomas Baccei and his wife Linda of Fairlee, VT; his precious grandchildren, Julia, Lukas, Leah, Olivia, Ava, Emery, and William. Jim was also a beloved brother-in-law and uncle to many extended family members.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2-4 PM, with a service at 4, and concluding with military honors, at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
