Howard J. Gomme

Howard J. Gomme, 79, of Terryville, husband of Linda (Knox) Gomme, passed away peacefully Saturday July 31, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. 

Howard was born February 6, 1942, in Bristol son of the late Howard I. and Doris (Duff) Gomme.

Prior to his retirement he was employed by Home Depot in New Hartford. Howard was a member of Founders Congregational Church in Harwinton, the Terryville Fire Dept. Plymouth Co., Project Healing Waters, Honorary member of the Harwinton Fire Dept. He was also a member and photographer for the Nepaug Fire Dept. Howie was a carpenter, sign maker and was an avid fisherman and gardener. Howard was very proud that he established Fire Fighters Day in the state of CT. 

Besides his wife he leaves: his sons, James Gomme and his wife Maryann of East Haven and Ted Gomme of Terryville; his daughter Wendy Bond and her husband Michael of Tolland; his brother George Gomme of Plainville; his sister Diane Gore of Terryville; his grandchildren Sierra, Mackenzie, Mason, Jennifer, Christopher, and Alysha; his great grandchildren Kylie, Kelsie, Emma and Abigail and several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday 11 AM at Founders Congregational Church in Harwinton. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery Thomaston.
