Hazel (Cushman) Belanger

Hazel (Cushman) Belanger, 80, of Terryville, wife of Gary Belanger passed away Friday June 5, 2026 at home. Hazel was born Nov. 2, 1945 in Rockland, Maine, daughter of the late Woodrow and Gladys (Ames) Cushman. 

She loved spending time with her husband of 35 years and her family. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, the casino, country music, and visiting Maine and the ocean. Hazel was an award winning bread maker. Prior to her retirement she was employed by AMCI of Terryville.

Besides her husband Gary, she is survived by children and grandchildren; (Son) David Spencer and his wife Michelle, (Daughter) Lisa Mastracchio, and Justin, (Son) Gregory Knowlton and his wife Heather, and her (Stepson) Gary D. Belanger Jr. and his wife Shannon. Her (Grandchildren), Michael, Kayla, Mick, Adam, and Gary Belanger lll. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for relatives and friends will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2026 at Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville. from 11am to 1:30pm. Commencing the Funeral services, burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Terryville, CT.
