Harry Smith

Harry E. Smith of East Hartford, beloved husband of the late Mary (Lysak) Smith, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024.  Born in Fort Henry, New York on February 7, 1928, to the late Gertrude (Shepherd) and George Smith.  He joins his sisters and their spouses Nancy (Smith) and Edward Chabot, Norma (Smith) and Oscar Uricchio, and his son Myron Taras Kaluk and Tamara Tessier.  He will be dearly missed by his children Kristine (Kaluk) and Richard Meinert, their children Kathryn, Rosemary, Patricia, Mary and Damian Thibodeau and their cherished daughter Anastasia; Irene (Kaluk) Cistulli and her children Maria, Alex Steele his wife Torey and their children Violet, Wesley and Autumn, Nicholas Steele, Julia Steele and her daughter Opal.

A Church service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 35 Allen Street, Terryville, CT.  Burial service to immediately follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery on New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT 06033.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy in his memory be made to either Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 26 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT 06033 or Saint Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 35 Allen Street, Terryville, CT 06786.
