Grace Ellen (Boulden) Doner, 90, of Thomaston, wife of the late Verne Doner, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at home with her family by her side. She was born May 17, 1935, in Waterbury, daughter of the late James and Inez (Hubbell) Boulden.
Prior to her retirement, Grace was employed by Heminway & Bartlett Thread in Bristol. She then returned to work at Cumberland Farms in Thomaston. Grace was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. She was happily married to her husband and love of her life, Verne Doner, for 31 years before his passing in 1987.
Grace loved a good tag sale, going on picnics, square dancing and animals of all kinds. She truly enjoyed being with her family for any gatherings or holidays. She especially loved her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; taking them to swim or play at Nystrom's Park. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Grace leaves behind her son Louis Doner of Thomaston; her daughters, Ellen Edwards and her husband Dana of Conway, SC, and Roberta Challman and her husband Dennis of Thomaston; her son-in-law Scott DeLucia of Waterbury; her 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Besides her husband and her parents, Grace was predeceased by her son Verne Doner, her daughter Susan DeLucia and her sister Debbie DeLavern.
