Gloria Makara, 93 of Terryville, widow of Charles V. Makara whom she was married to for 72 years, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Pines at Bristol.
Gloria was born February 20, 1928, in Bristol, daughter of the late Charles and Rose Fournier. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Seth Thomas Clock Company of Thomaston. She was a member of the St. Casimir Church in Terryville.
Gloria is survived by her daughters, Christine Franks of Plymouth, CT, Judith Mulkey of Tate, GA, Janet Kimball and her husband Donald of Tilton, NH, and Gloria Clair and her husband Randy of Wolcott, CT; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons-in-law, Ron Franks and Charles Mulkey. The family would like to give a special thanks to Patty Manchester for her care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 4th, 11am at St. Casimir Church, Terryville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
