George Thomas Davis, also known as Humphrey, of Plymouth, passed away on Friday, September 12, at the age of 67. Born on March 8, 1958, in Bristol to the late Shirley (Parkin) Davis Magid and Vernon "Tiny" Davis, he was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, father-in-law, uncle, and friend—the list goes on.
A proud graduate of Terryville High School (Class of '76), George spent much of his life behind the wheel, driving trucks for numerous local companies, including Pratt Brothers, Whitney Nursery, Richards Corp, Industrial Riggers, All Green, M. R. Bart and JPC. He also served the town of Plymouth as Town Foreman and was a proud son of a Legion member at American Legion Post 20.
No matter where he went, George had a knack for running into someone he knew. He made friends everywhere and left a lasting impression with his humor, warmth, and easygoing nature. George loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting in Maine, and enjoying many little hobbies. He had a gift for making people smile and feel loved.
George is survived by his loving wife, Lori, and their children: Nicole LoCurto and her husband Anthony, his son George Jr. and daughter-in-law Amanda. He also leaves behind his favorite mother-in-law Jane, several aunts, many cousins, and was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Jordan, Angelo, Isabella, Valentina, Giuliana, Angelina, and Dominic. He was predeceased by his parents, stepfather Milton Magid, and brothers Ralph and Timmy.
George will be forever remembered for his laughter, his smile, and his big heart.
Services will be held at Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville, CT, on Saturday, September 20, from 9-11 AM, followed by a gathering at Harwinton Rod and Gun Club, 123 Campville Hill Rd., Harwinton, CT. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
