Fernando "Frenchie" or "Peter" Theriault, Jr.

Fernando Theriault Jr., commonly known as Frenchie or Peter, passed away peacefully at his home in Terryville on Saturday June 21st 2025 at the age of 88 years. Fernando “Frenchie”, son of the late Fernando and Jeannette Theriault, was born in Fort Kent, Maine. Fernando is predeceased by his daughter baby Lisa-Mae Theriault. He is survived by his loving wife Cecile Theriault of 67 years.

Frenchie is also survived by his three children, David Theriault and his wife Doreen; Lori-Ann Crockett and her husband Bill; and Susan Pelletier and her husband James. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Mark Austin and his wife Elena; Matthew Austin; Nathaniel Austin and his wife Kate; Jillian Pelletier; Elizabeth Theriault; Ian Crockett and his two great-grandchildren Trent Austin and Daymond Austin.

Peter is additionally survived by his only brother Roland Theriault, and his five sisters Rolande Roy, Anita Dione, Pauline Nadeau, Theresa Michard, Christine Chasse, his sister-in-law Lorraine Long, as well his nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Fernando enjoyed working alongside his son David at their family business Theriault’s Service Center in Bristol CT for over 65 years. Fernando was a parishioner of St. Maximillian Kolbe Parish in Terryville, CT. He enjoyed spending time with his abundant family and his friends. He also loved traveling, camping, birdwatching, movies and especially his cars and trucks. He was known for his dry sense of humor.           

We would like to give special thanks to the family members who have provided unwavering support and aid during this time, as well as the hospice nurses, especially his aide Nadia.

Services will be at Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St Terryville. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 26th 2025, from 6-8pm. Additional calling hours will be on Friday June 27th 2025, between 9:30am-10:30am. Funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 170 Main St. Terryville, CT 06786 at 11:00am.
