Ernest Jay Pickhardt, Jr.

Ernest Jay Pickhardt, Jr., 93, of Bristol, husband of the late Ruth (Stockman) Pickhardt, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at KindCare Assisted Living. He was born March 7, 1930, in Greenwich, CT, son of the late Ernest Sr. and Marie Pickhardt.

Jay was a proud veteran of the US Army. Prior to his retirement he was the Director of Public Works for the City of Bristol. Jay was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bristol. He loved gardening, carpentry, working around his house, spending time with his family and traveling.

Jay leaves behind his son David Pickhardt of Tolland, MA, and his daughter Kelly Zelazo of Hardeeville, SC.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St, Bristol. Calling hours at the church are from 12-1PM. Burial with military honors will be in West Cemetery, Bristol. Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bristol.
