Doris J. (Jensen) Coll

Doris J. (Jensen) Coll, 90, of Waterbury, widow of Robert H. Coll, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Waterbury Hospital.

Doris was born on March 24, 1931 in Tannersville, NY, daughter of the late Oscar and Bessie (Bunt) Jensen. She was one of nine children. Doris worked at the Romatic Manufacturing Co. in Southbury, CT for many years prior to her retirement; she was later a crossing guard for the City of Waterbury, a job she loved doing and that brought her joy. Outside of work, Doris was formerly a member of the Fireman’s Auxiliary of Woodbury, and an avid bowler. She enjoyed taking daily walks, reading, latch-hook, games and puzzles; but, her favorite thing to do was spend time with family and friends, both here and ‘up home’. Doris was sociable and outgoing; she seemed to know just about everyone, and everyone who knew her, loved her.

Doris leaves behind her sons, Timothy Coll of Catskill, NY and Michael Coll of Waterbury, CT; her daughter Debra Coughlan of Waterbury, CT; her grandchildren, Shannon Coughlan and her partner Will Gebhardt of Plymouth, Daniel Coughlan of Terryville, Kathleen Wooster and her husband Rick of St. Augustine, FL, David Morkis of Waterbury, Timothy Coll and his wife Courtney of Richfield Springs, NY, Robert Coll and his wife Jenn of Bristol, and Bessie Coll and her husband Eddie Amorim of Tannersville, NY; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
