Christopher D. Smith

Christopher D. Smith, 53, of Torrington, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He was born in Benton, IL, on December 21, 1968.

Chris was a member of the Terryville Congregational Church. He worked as an EMT for EMR of North Canaan and loved his job. He also loved cooking and being a father. He was a family man and would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it. He will be sadly missed.

Chris is survived by his father C. Jack Smith and his wife Frances of Benton, IL; his mother Peggy McClintock and her husband Rick of West Frankfort, IL; his fiancé Maryann Sestito of Torrington; his sons, Cody Smith and Brianna of Terryville, Anthony and Dylan Anderson of Terryville; his step son Nicholas Potter of Torrington; his sisters, Rebecca Davis of West Frankfort, IL and Karen Jones and her husband Brian of CO; his brother Brad McElyea and his wife Susie of West Frankfort, IL; and his grandsons, Jackson, Wesley and Waylon Smith. Chris was predeceased by his brother Keith.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at the Terryville Congregational Church, 233 Main St, Terryville, at 2 PM. Relatives and friends may visit at the church from 12 to 2pm. Scott Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
