Christine C. (Masterbone) Bernier

Christine Masterbone Bernier, 74, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Christine was born on May 25, 1951, at Bristol Hospital in Bristol, Connecticut, to Francis P. Masterbone, Sr. and Doris Mead Masterbone and was raised in Wolcott, Connecticut. She graduated from Wolcott High School in 1969. She worked with Carrabetta’s, and later, alongside her beloved husband Lee, proudly built and operated their own cleaning business.

Christine was predeceased by her husband, Leroy “Lee” Bernier. She is survived by her children, Michele Sanzone Pelletier, Kevin Bernier, Ryan Bernier (Loriann Mancuso), and Sherry Corriveau. She is also survived by her brother, Francis Peter Masterbone, Jr. (partner Lillyn), her brother-in-law Don and sister-in-law Joyce Scott. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Stacie Masterbone.

Christine was a loving grandmother to Matthew (Marie) Pelletier and Andrew Pelletier, and a proud great-grandmother to James and Hayden Pelletier. She is also survived by her nephew Derek Masterbone, her niece  Brittany Matthewson (partner Clay) and great-nephew Aiden Masterbone, along with many other cherished family members and dear friends.

One of Christine’s greatest joys in life was the time she spent with her husband at their camper in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, her home away from home. Together, they enjoyed riding mopeds along the scenic coast, exploring lighthouses—one of her favorite pastimes. She also found happiness in making crafts and collecting cardinals and moose.

Christine will be remembered for her strength, determination, kindness, and her unwavering presence for those who needed her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
