Carol Clayton Obituary

Carol Lee (Duchaine) Clayton, 82, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at Ingraham Manor in Bristol. She was born on September 4, 1943, in Bristol, the daughter of the late William Duchaine and Eleanor (Dragon) Sherman.

Carol was a hardworking and creative woman who owned and operated LLCC Creations at the former Bristol Centre Mall for 15 years. One of her most notable accomplishments was creating a photo button wall of honor, honoring U.S. military service in Desert Storm, the “Faces We Are Proud of”. She enjoyed simple pleasures- reading, watching game shows, and playing Yahtzee and Bingo. One of Carol’s greatest joys was spending vacations with family and friends in cottages along the CT shoreline, for over 5 decades; always making sure to include a caravan of family pets. These annual vacations were filled with love and laughter and made for some beautifully cherished memories.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Clayton of Bristol; her sons, Thomas Clayton of Bristol, and Garth Clayton and his wife, Kimberly Mahoney-Clayton, of North Richland Hills, TX; her beloved grandson, Cy Thomas McIntosh of Bristol; her sister, Gloria Dade-Doucette of Terryville, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas G. Clayton; her brother, William Duchaine; her sisters, Janet Soucy, Beverly Bissonnette and Gail Ezer; her son Tommy’s longtime girlfriend, Paula Soltis; and her beloved dogs, Ebony, Pepper, and Rusty. Carol also treasured her lifelong childhood friendship with the late Ann “Pinky” Harkey. Carol will be deeply missed as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
