Brian E. Volz, 70, of Terryville, husband of Kathy (Thomes) Volz, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury. He was born December 14, 1954, in New Britain, son of the late Arthur and Jennie (Suchowola) Volz.
Brian worked for many years with Stanley Works in New Britain, and then he started his own company, Brian Volz Painting, where he worked alongside his son, Brian. He was a parishioner of St. Casimir Church, Terryville, as well as a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 1090 of Terryville, and a long-time member of the Bristol Fish & Game Club. Brian loved hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and just being outdoors. He enjoyed riding his Harley and bringing his 1960’s Shelby Cobra, that he built, to car shows. Anyone who knew Brian, knew his unique sense of humor and loved his jokes. He loved his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Brian leaves behind his best friend and love of his life, Kathy Volz; his sons, Brian A. Volz of Plainville and Matthew E. Volz and his wife Mary of Vernon; his step-daughters, Katie Brown and her husband Ben of DuPont, WA and Erin Lerz and her husband Patrick of Wolcott; his beloved granddaughter Madison Brown; his brothers, Arthur Volz and his wife Cheryl of Berlin, Michael Volz of Lugoff, SC, Christopher Volz and his wife Nancy of Berlin, and Francis “Bud” Volz of New Britain; his grand-pups, Buster and Sabrina and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and good friends.
