Arnold O. Hella

Arnold O. Hella, 79, of Watertown, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Born in Bristol and raised in Terryville, he was the son of Oiva J. and Murielle (Hamm) Hella.

Arnold was a graduate of Terryville High School and the University of CT. He worked as an investment broker for his entire career, most notably with Payne Webber, Advest Financial and Mechanics Bank. He was awarded one of the top stockbrokers in the country in 1988. Arnold followed the market and gave out stock advice up to his final days.

Arnold served on the Board of the Terryville Parks and Rec. Committee and was an active member of the Terryville Lions Club and the Polish Club. He also coached both his boys in little league. In his younger years, Arnold loved to play tennis, golf and ski. He was always up for a good card game with his beloved Aunt Gladys. Arnold liked to be a sharp dresser and would always sport a button-down Oxford shirt whether it be on the golf course, at the beach or just hanging out at home. In his retirement years, Arnold enjoyed vacationing in New York state and the New England states. He was happiest working in the yard, mowing the lawn and sitting by the pool. He lived a simple life, was a complex thinker and did things his way.

Arnold is survived by his loving partner, Roberta Baker of Watertown; his daughter Lisa Hella of Auburn, MA; his sons, Jason Hella of Worcester, MA and Bryan Hella of Henderson, NV. He is also survived by his three grandsons, Jarryd Hawkins, Ethan Madison Hella and Michael Hella.

As a boy, one of Arnold’s favorite places to be, was the Bristol Boys Club. It is now the Bristol Boys and Girls Club. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the club, 255 West St. Bristol, CT 06010
