Andrew “Jack” Krenicki, Jr, 71, of Terryville, CT passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Charlottle Hungerford Hospital in Torrington surrounded by his closest family and friends.
Jack was born November 15, 1953 in Bristol, CT son of the late Andrew and Helen (Krasiski) Krenicki. Jack was a lifetime resident of Terryville where everyone knew him as the “guy who never stopped talking”. Anywhere he went, he would strike up a conversation with someone, whether he knew them or not. He loved to give advice, especially on how to eat healthy and how to make money. Jack started as an entrepreneur back in high school, selling 8-track tapes out of his car. He also had a great love for rock music and played in a rock band with his cousins. Just after high school, he started a family and opened his first official business, Wasteland Gift Shop in Bristol; later he made his own recording studio and started the label, Backstreet Records. Jack loved to be on the road with his bands for shows. He was so sure one of them was going to “make it big”. While main icons consist of wolves and Harleys, Jack was also a car enthusiast, “wheeling and dealing” classic cars to make a buck. He would always say, buying something he could sell was an investment. Jack continued to experiment with many new business ideas over the years, including online ventures however, he valued spending time with this family. He enjoyed watching his sons play baseball, taking family vacations, attending family picnics and parties. Later in life, Jack valued the close relationships he held with his sister Kathy, niece Kim, cousins Jeff and Kim Scott, sister-in-law Collette Anderson, brother and sister-in-law Alan and Cory LaRocque, and friends Jeff Tole and Colleen Ferrucci. He especially enjoyed the company of others for meals- always inviting someone to go out to breakfast or dinner so he could have a nice meal and conversation, he also enjoyed volunteering at the Terryville Fair beer booth and cooking at youth sports events.
While Jack was a very stubborn man who was set in his ways, he had a big heart and was always willing to help others. If someone was in financial trouble, he would give them a job; if someone needed a place to stay, his door was open. He would preach his ways to people on how to be successful, based on personal experience, of course. Jack’s way of communicating was to make jokes. Even when discussing something negative, he would find a way to be humorous. Though anyone who knew Jack has hidden from him, at least once, in fear of being trapped for an hour, we will all truly miss his vibrant personality and “words of wisdom”.
Jack leaves five siblings and spouses, Kathy and Bob Ranger of Terryville, Mary and Tom Ciechoski of Palm Bay, FL, Joe and Leann Krenicki of Harwinton, Sue Krenicki-Myers of Terryville, Theresa and Dan Morrone of Plymouth; a son, Steven Krenicki of Terryville; a granddaughter, Kayla Wesolowski of Bristol; nieces and nephews, Julie (and Dan) Hamel of New Hartford, Kim (and Jeff) Hotchkiss of Plymouth, Jason (and Katie) Ciechoski of Bristol, Kristin (and Devon) Xander, Daniel, David and Philip (and Jess) Morrone, Sarah Krenicki (and Matt Forrest), Dana Anderson, Kim Anderson; fifteen great nieces and nephews. Jack was pre-deceased by his son, Brian Krenicki, brother Bill Krenicki, niece Stacie Ciechoski, and nephew Paul Anderson.
