Alan L. Woina, 72, of Plymouth, husband of the late Patricia “Patt” (Swenden) Woina, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. He was born May 16, 1953, in Torrington, son of the late Victor and Patricia (Lindsley) Woina.
Alan proudly served his country in the US Army. Prior to his retirement he was truck driver, and he loved it. Alan was very helpful to everyone. He loved cars and NASCAR. He truly loved being a trucker and being on the road. He meant the world to his friends, and they considered him to be a “Gem of a guy”.
Alan leaves behind his siblings; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who he loved like family.; his very best friend, Wes, who was by his side till his last breath, and Wes’s son, Connor. Besides his parents and his wife, Alan was predeceased by his daughter Lindsay Woina, and his brother Gary Woina.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, 11:00AM at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, is assisting with the arrangements. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
