Richard W. Borkoski, 80, of Unionville, CT passed away peacefully at home on Saturday Sept. 10, 2016.

Richard graduated from Terryville High School and attended the University of Michigan.  He played baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies before serving with pride in the U.S. Army.  He then worked for Forestville Lumber Co. until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Clara (Sosinski) Borkoski and daughters Carolyn Trethaway of Torrington, Sandra Johnson and her husband Kenneth of Barkhamsted and granddaughter, Dana Trethaway of Boulder, CO.

Services will be private.  There will be no calling hours.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville, CT.  Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville is handling the arrangements.  www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
