May (Ceci) Blum, 87, of West Hartford, formerly of Terryville, widow of Arthur F. Blum died Sunday May 31, 2015 at Hartford Hospital.

May was born to the late Peter and Mary Ceci on May 15, 1928 in Greenwich, CT.  After lovingly raising her four children, she returned to work as a telephone operator for G. Fox & Co. in Hartford, continuing with her work as a receptionist for Cigna in Farmington until she retired.  

May was a former member of the Terryville Women’s Club and was active with the Terryville Lions Country Fair along with her husband Art.  In retirement, May and Art enjoyed their winters on Siesta Key, FL and traveled to many destinations in the U S and abroad.

May is survived by her sisters Frances Hines of Sarasota, Fl. and Restora Skalundunas and her husband Ed of Greenwich, Ct. ; her son, Brian Blum of Berkeley, CA; three daughters Leslie Geraldino and her husband Pedro of Lower Gynedd, PA; Betsy Blum Schatzlein and her husband Craig of Hartford, CT and Karen DeLorenzo of San Antonio, TX.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah and Steven DeLorenzo; Serena Geraldino; Amy Canth  and husband Jassa and Eric Schatzlein; and great-grandchildren Carter, Aubrey and Charlotte Canth and Castiel DeLorenzo, as well as many nieces and nephews.

May was predeceased by her grandson Peter Geraldino and her sister Jean O’Hara.

Relatives and friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:30AM..  Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery, Terryville with a reception to follow interment.

The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to her caregivers at Atria Hamilton Heights for all the years they kept her happy, healthy, and involved in daily activities.
