Edmund S. Borkoski, 87, of Terryville, husband of the late Jeannette (Gaylord) Borkoski died Sunday (January 25, 2009) at the Bristol Hospital.
Ed was born May 21, 19121 in Terryville. He was the son of the late Stanley and Stella (Zalaski) Borkoski and had lived in Terryville all of his life. He attended local Terryville Schools, Sansom Technical School and Arkansas State University. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII serving as a First Lieutenant and Pilot. Ed was employed at Bowsers in Terryville, American research in Farmington and retired after many years from New Departure in Bristol. He was a communicant of St. Casimir Church, Terryville and enjoyed a long life of farming and competing in ox pulling at New England fairs.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Caroline Borkoski of Terryville; his daughter, Dayle Borkoski Rockwell Glowa of Terryville; his three grandchildren, Melissa Borkoski, Edmund S. Borkoski II, Samantha Borkoski; his great granddaughter, Jordan Borkoski; his brother Richard Borkoski and his wife Clare of Farmington; his three sisters, Stella Emery of PA., Dorothy Biscoe of Ellington and Helen Kucharski of Terryville.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Rochelle Rockwell and a sister, Elizabeth Allen.
Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30a.m. from the Scott Funeral Home 169 Main St., Terryville to St. Casimir Church, Terryville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Burial with military honors will be in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville in the spring. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00p.m.
