Florence J. (Burgar) Bourgoin, 86, of Terryville, widow of Gerald (Jiggs) Bourgoin, died Sunday (Dec. 4, 2011) at St. Marys Hospital, Waterbury.

Florence "Flossie" was born in Bristol, Oct. 17, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Blanche (Rusgrove) Burgar. Before moving to Terryville in 1960, she worked in many of the wonderful shops in downtown Bristol, Woodruffs Bakery, Muzzys, where she modeled many of the clothes, also the toy store, and hat shop. She then worked at Ingrahams making watches, and working for the Civil Service Dept during WWII.

Even earlier she was a great swimmer, and played basketball while in school. Her greatest passion was having all the holidays at her house for her daughters and their families. She made them magical for all. She was truly a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother ... Friend!

She will be missed by her three daughters...Nancy Demo and son-in-law Seth, their children, Dawn Sheri, Sarah and Seth. Her daughter Geraldine Levesque and son-in-law Steven, their children, Jason and Amy. Her daughter Jan Ouellette and son-in-law Fred, their sons, Rodney and Mitchell.

She also leaves fourteen great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her sisters... Blanche Brooks, Norma Ferro, Grace Fassci, Eleanor Papapietro and brother, James Burgar.

A ceremony in her honor will be held at Barnes Memorial Chapel, 49 Pound Street, Bristol on Saturday (Dec. 17, 2011) at 3:00PM. Friends and family are welcome.

My deepest condolences to the Bourgoin family. Mom B. was like a second mother to me. Her daughter Deanie has been my best friend for 45 years, so I spent a lot of time in their home. She will be greatly missed and forever in my heart. Rest in peace, Mom B.

My father ( George J. Kalinowski RPh ) and I , both knew Florence well,
and always enjoyed chatting with her .
For many years she was a wonderful patient and customer ,
at our , independent , family run pharmacy in Bristol , CT .
