Robert Matthew Bandish, 75, of Terryville, husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Gorack) Bandish died Monday (January 9, 2012) at the Bristol Hospital after a brief illness.
Robert was born January 31, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was the son of the late Daniel and Stella (Chiger) Bandish. Prior to his retirement he worked for and was union president for the former O.Z. Gedney Co. of Terryville. He was a communicant of St. Casimir Church, Terryville. Robert loved spending weekends and summers at their camp at Twin Lakes where he was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed summers at the Connecticut shore and boating.
Besides his beloved wife of 53 years he leaves behind his brothers, Joseph Bandish of Torrington; his sisters, Barbara Fioravanti of Bristol, Irene Folan of Bristol, Janice Glowicki of Bristol, Lucille Listorti of Florida; his brothers-in-law, Walter Gorack Sr. and his wife Jeanette of Terryville, David Gorack of Terryville and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held Friday (January 13, 2012) 11:00am at St. Casimir Church, Terryville. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
