Edward P. Blake, 91, of Farmington, CT, and Boca Raton, FL, husband of Leigh (Ferraris) Blake died Friday (February 10, 2012) at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington.
Edward was born May 25, 1920 in Terryville, CT. Edward was a graduate of Terryville High School, Springfield College and Harvard Graduate School of Business and Finance. He was a Captain in the Army Airforce and served under Commander Tibbetts of the Enola Gay during WWII. He started his career as an instructor at SperryRand in DC, transfered to the CT Division - Mainframe Marketing as Account Executive of Marketing and retired from UNISYS of Windsor, CT. Edward was an avid golfer and member of the Wethersfield Country Club and Boca Raton Country Club and was also a Bristol City Champion.
Besides his wife of 54 years he is survived by his brothers, Henry of Bristol and Walter of Terryville, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday (Feb. 14, 2012) 11:00AM at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville. Burial will in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
