Adrene M. (Day) Bunnell, 66, of Thomaston, wife of Michael Edward Bunnell entered the kingdom of heaven after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Monday (Aug. 5, 2013).

Adrene was born Jan 14, 1947 in Bristol, CT. She was the daughter of the late Kathleen (Murphy) Day and her dad, Worden F. Day and his wife Rita of Terryville. Prior to her illness she worked as a LPN at Paradigm Health Care of Waterbury. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church, Thomaston. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, the Rosary Society and many other activities with St. Thomas Church.

Besides her husband and father she is survived by her sons, Jason and his wife Michelle Bunnell and her granddaughter, Mallory of Wisconsin, Brandon Bunnell of Thomaston; her sisters, Wordene Day of Rochester, NY, and Murlene (Day) Black and her husband John of Baltic; several nieces and nephews and her exteded family member, Charlotte Jenner. She was predeceased by her son, Aaron Bunnell.

Funeral services will be held Thursday (Aug. 8, 2013) 10:00AM at St. Thomas Church, Thomaston. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville. There are no calling hours. Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville, CT 06786.

The family would like to extend a special thanks the Bristol Hospital Cancer Care Center, especially to Dr. Brahaj and Adrene's nurse Candy.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bristol Hospital Cancer Care Center, or to the American Cancer Society.
