James E. Vanoni, of Plymouth, husband of Maureen (Houlihan) Vanoni died Friday at the UCONN Medical Center, Farmington. James was born Oct. 29, 1943 in Bristol, CT. He was the son of the late John and Jenny (Gotaski) Vanoni and had been a resident of Plymouth most of his life. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the former Bristol Brass Co. and also Richards Corp. of Terryville. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Bristol, member of the Terryville Polish Club and Thomaston Fish and Game Club. Jim had a home in New York where he vacationed and hunted. Besides his wife he leaves, a son, James Dziekan of New Hartford, a daughter, Samantha Vanoni of Plymouth, two brothers, Peter Vanoni of Bristol and John Vanoni of Terryville, two sisters, Dolores Vanoni of Terryville and Rose Marie Lawrence of Bristol, four grandchildren, Tyler and Nathan Dionne, Jared and Linnea Dziekan, several nieces and nephews, and his dog Sadie. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30a.m from the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville to St. Joseph Church, Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 - 8p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the UCONN Medical Center Cardio Pulmonary Unit c/o Dr. Hager, 263 Farmington Ave., Farmington, CT 06032. The family would like to thank the staff at the UCONN Cardio Pulmonary Unit and Emergency Room.
