Elizabeth "Betty" (Verreault) Rustic, 70, of Terryville, wife of Richard "Dick" J. Rustic died Wednesday at Bristol Hospital.Betty was born May 21, 1938 in Bowdoin, ME. She was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Esther (Ayotte) Verreault and has lived in Terryville for the past 48 years. Prior to her retirement she was a teacher for the former St. Stanislaus School in Bristol and the Plymouth Center School of Plymouth, she also was the owner and operator of the former Village Package Store in Terryville. Betty was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, Bristol, a literacy volunteer, a regular contributor to the Plymouth Community Food Pantry, and well known and loved in her community. Betty also enjoyed reading, gardening, and always looked forward to the family's annual trip to Lake Champlain, VT.Besides her husband she leaves, two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Rosemary Rustic of Bristol, and Mark and Diane Rustic of Avon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Steven Goulette of St. Albans, VT, and Diane and Hil Scott of Burlington; two brothers, Louis Verreault of Dallas, TX, and Thomas Verreault of Auborn, ME; her sister, Gertrude Hubeny of LaPlata, MO, nine grandchildren, Erica and Jennie Rustic, Daniel Goulette, Richelle Reid, Danielle and Nicholas Rustic, Bobby Storrs, Emily and Richard Scott. She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Verreault. The family of Betty would like to thank her family and friends, the Bristol Hospital Hospice, the nurses on F-South floor at Bristol Hospital, the staff at VITAS, and all her doctors for their care and support.Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:30a.m from the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville, CT to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 - 8:00p.m.Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 510 west St., Bristol, CT 06010 or to the Plymouth Community Food Pantry, 20 Dewey Ave., Terryville, CT 06786
