Stella (Biernacki) Vasnes, 88, of Terryville, widow of Benedict F. Vasnes died Sunday (March 15, 2009) at the Bristol Hospital.
Stella was born December 2, 1920 in Deep River, CT. She was the daughter of the late Zigmund and Bernice (Mosakowski) Biernacki and had been a lifelong resident of Terryville. Prior to her retirement she worked as a hairdresser for the former Ann's Beauty Salon of Terryville. She was a communicant of St. Casimir church, Terryville. Stella was a mother and very best friend to her children and grandchildren; she dedicated her life to her children and will be sadly missed by her family.
She is survived by, her son, Benedict J. Vasnes and his wife Sharon of Terryville; her daughters, Beverly Hoadley of Terryville, Juliana Roy and her husband Paul of Greenwood, SC; her brother, Joseph Biernacki and his wife Sophie of Terryville; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, George Bobola; her son-in-law, Howard Hoadley Jr. and brother Zigmund "Ziggy" Biernacki.
Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30a.m from the Scott funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville to St. Casimir Church, Terryville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cem., Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00p.m.
