Bettyann (Kosswig) Zipke, of Wolcott, former Plymouth resident, widow of Robert W. Zipke died Thursday (March 10, 2011) at the Bristol Hospital.

Bettyann was born December 24, 1942 in New Britain, CT, daughter of the late Gustave and Flora (Anderson) Kosswig. She was employed at the Bristol Hospital and was also the secretary of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Terryville for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Terryville and was very active in her church. Bettyann was a member and past president of the Plymouth Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, member and past president of the Women of the Moose, Bristol and was a member of the Red Hat Society "Triple D's"

Bettyann is survived by her sons, David Zipke and his wife Michele of Bristol, Wayne Zipke of Wolcott; her daughter, Linda Ciavarella and her husband Michael of Waterbury; her grandchildren, Courtney, Tiffany, Taylor, Robert, Marissa and Brianna, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert Kosswig and Norman Kosswig and her sister, Lorraine Christensen.

Funeral services will be held Monday (March 14, 2011) 11:00AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Terryville. Burial in the spring will be in West Cemetery, Plymouth. Relatives and friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00. Members of the Plymouth Fire Co. will provide a color guard during Bettyann's calling hours.
